A bathroom in a home can be an oasis, where you relax and enjoy a warm bath or shower, or it can be a traffic jam, when you and your family are fighting for mirror space or sink time.
Jennifer Louise Ebert of Ideal Home provides some great tips on how to create a clutter free bathroom using clever storage solutions (full article can be found here).
From her list of great suggestions, we picked our top 3!
- "Overcome size restrictions: Make room for plenty of storage, even in a compact bathroom. Select smaller and more space efficient furniture and accessories." Go mini with your storage solutions and shelving, like the Halifax Buffet Small, or Halifax Wall Shelf. Visually these pieces take up less space, and in reality occupy less precious real estate in your compact space.
- "Open Up: Go for something a bit different with an open washstand that closely resembles furniture you would find in other rooms of the house. There’s plenty of scope for storage on the shelf – baskets and boxes will help to keep your things in order – while favourite trinkets can be proudly displayed next to the stunning mounted basin and tap." Our beloved Bordeaux collection provides three sizes to create this open look.
- "Hang it all: If you’re short on floor space, make your walls do all the work instead. Spend time seeking out a wall-hung unit that’s the exact right size for the space you have – too big and it’ll swamp the room, too small and you won’t have enough room for all your stuff. Wall hooks are another great space saver, especially if you use them to hang extra storage, like a pretty fabric bag." Our Hanging Coat Racks could be used in a bathroom to hang towels, bathrobes, or whatever you need. They come in four sizes, to best fit your space and your family (Two, Four, Six and Eight Hooks).
